Andreas Kugi


Andreas Kugi is the chairman of the Institute for Automation and Control Technology (ACIN) and professor for complex dynamic systems at TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology). His main interests in research and teaching are the modeling, control and optimization of complex dynamic systems, mechatronic system design as well as robotics and process automation. He maintains research cooperations with more than 40 companies at national and international level. Since 2014 Andreas Kugi has also headed the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Model-Based Process Control in the Steel Industry and since 2017 he has also been co-head of the Center for Vision, Automation & Control at the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT). In addition to many other activities, Andreas Kugi was Editor-in-Chief of the IFAC Journals Control Engineering Practice from 2010-2017, is Vice President of the Austrian Association for Electrical Engineering (OVE), full member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and a member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech).
