Before the Belgian philosopher and political scientist Mark Coeckelbergh came to Austria, he had already worked for several years as a lecturer and professor at universities in Twente, Leicester and Maastricht. From 2012 to 2014 he was also Managing Director of the 3TU Centre for Ethics and Technology in the Netherlands. Since December 2015, the scientist, born in 1975, has been Professor of Media and Technology Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Vienna. He is President of the International Society for Philosophy and Technology, is a member of the High-Level Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence of the European Commission and his research focuses on developments in robotics, AI and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
